INSTRUCTORS
Ustadha Fatima Lette
Ustadha Fatima Lette is the Associate Director of Academy at Qalam. She is a faculty member at the Qalam Seminary, where she teaches ʿUlūm al-Qur’an, Uṣūl al-Tafsīr, and Tafsīr. She also teaches at the Roots Community Space, conducts classes and workshops online, and is a regular instructor at Qalam Intensives.
Ustadha Fatima graduated from Kennesaw State University with a B.A. in Psychology and later completed the ʿĀlimiyyah program at the Qalam Seminary. Born and raised in Atlanta, GA, she continues to serve her community through teaching and educational initiatives.
Ustadha Sally Elhousieny
Ustadha Sally Elhousieny holds a degree in Media and Communications from the University of Washington (2018) and is a graduate of the Qalam ʿĀlimiyyah program (Class of 2024). She has over ten years of experience teaching Arabic and Islamic Studies across all grade levels, from preschool to high school, and has delivered numerous halaqāt and classes at MAPS in Washington. Now based in Dallas, she serves as an instructor with Qalam Academy and works with the Admissions team at the Qalam Seminary. A lifelong book enthusiast, Ustadha Sally is known for her joyful energy and ability to light up a room with her warmth and engaging teaching style.

It offers direct and connecting flights from major hubs including Salt Lake City, Los Angeles, Phoenix, and Denver. Airport ride coordination will be arranged for arriving guests on Thursday and departing guests on Sunday.

Harry Reid International Airport (LAS), located in Las Vegas, Nevada, is the next closest major airport, approximately a 2-hour drive from the retreat accommodations. It offers a wide range of direct flights from major cities across the U.S. and international destinations, making it a convenient option for many guests. Airport ride coordination for LAS will also be arranged for arriving guests on Thursday and departing guests on Sunday.

What are the accommodations like?
Guests will be housed in a private, comfortable retreat setting in St. George, Utah. Accommodations are shared and designed to foster community and sisterhood throughout the weekend.
What should I bring?
Comfortable clothing for activities, hiking shoes, a light jacket for cool evenings, your Quran or Quran app, and an open heart.
Is food provided throughout the retreat?
Yes — halal meals are included from Thursday dinner through Sunday morning. Snacks and refreshments will also be available throughout the retreat.
