This first-of-its-kind Qalam sisters’ trip to Jamaica is a chance to explore, reflect, and reconnect while experiencing a new part of the world alongside a community of fellow travelers. From turquoise waters and lush mountains to the warmth and richness of Jamaican culture, the journey invites us to slow down, take it all in, and appreciate the signs of Allah around us.
INSTRUCTORS
Ustadha Sally Elhouseiney graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Media and Communications (2018) and completed the Qalam Seminary's ʿĀlimiyyah program as part of the Class of 2024.
She has over a decade of experience teaching Arabic and Islamic Studies to students of all ages, from preschool through high school, and has led numerous classes and halaqāt at MAPS in Washington. Now based in Dallas, she serves as an instructor with Qalam Academy and works with the Admissions team at the Qalam Seminary.
A lifelong lover of books, Ustadha Sally is known for her joyful spirit, engaging teaching style, and ability to create warm, welcoming spaces for learning and growth.
Ustadha Hayat Fulli was born and raised in the great state of Maine, where she studied with local teachers and served her community through volunteering, mentoring, and organizing programs at her local masjid.
She graduated from Bowdoin College with a B.A. in Africana Studies before completing the ʿĀlimiyyah Program at Qalam Seminary in 2025.
Following graduation, she served as a Teaching Assistant at Qalam Seminary and as the Vice Principal of Legacy Islamic Academy's Saturday School at the Islamic Association of Carrollton (IAC).
