PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Qalam Hifdh Program consists of a part-time and full-time track for boys and girls who aspire to memorize the Qur’an while supporting their personal development.
Although there is technically no lower age limit, students typically start hifdh around 7 years of age. This program is for students under the age of 16.

PART-TIME HIFDH PROGRAM
Qalam's Part-Time Hifdh Program is designed for students who are ready to take the next step in their Qur’an journey, moving from reading fluently to memorizing and retaining the words of Allah with excellence.
In a focused, small-class environment, students engage in:
Daily sabaq (new memorization)
Murājaʿah (review),
Manzil (long-term retention),
All while receiving targeted tajweed correction and guidance
Alongside memorization, students learn effective strategies for time management, discipline, and consistent progress, all within a spiritually enriching atmosphere that nurtures character and love for the Qur’an.
This program is ideal for students ages 7+ who already have fluent Qur’an reading skills and are ready for a structured, supportive path to Hifdh.

Days: Monday–Thursday
Time :
5:00 PM – 6:30 PM
(1.5 hours/day, 6 hours/week)
Starting Date: October 6th
Program Focus:
Daily memorization (sabaq), review (murājaʿah), and retention (manzil)
Tajweed mastery and correction
Memorization strategies, time management, and discipline
Program Goal:
To begin structured Qur’an memorization with strong support in tajweed, retention, and character building in a spiritually enriching environment.
Who is Part-Time Hifdh for?
Students who have already developed fluent Qur’an reading skills and are ready to begin memorizing and retaining Qur’an consistently.
Tuition:
$2,000/year
Payment Plan: 5 monthly payments of $400
Admission to the Part-Time Hifdh program is application-based to ensure students are ready to benefit fully. While the process is simple, applicants must demonstrate fluent Qur’an reading to join.
HEAD TEACHER:
Hafidh Ifdal Yusuf completed his Hifdh under Shaykh Abdelkarim Edghouch, received Ijazah in various Qira’at from Shaykh Tarek Anwar at Al-Azhar through Mishkah University, and continues studying Qur’an under Shaykh Sa’ad Hassanein.He is also continuing his studies through Qalam’s Foundational Islamic Studies program and has over a decade of experience teaching Qur’an to children and adults.

Who is the Hifdh teacher?
Our head teacher is Hafidh Ifdal Yusuf. What will the learning environment be like at Qalam?

How long will it take my child to complete Hifdh?
The duration of Hifdh varies for each child. Students generally take 2-3 years to complete their initial memorization of the Quran. We highly recommend students continue an additional year after their initial memorization to solidify their revision.
At Qalam, we emphasize that Hifdh is a journey—one that prioritizes quality over quantity. Our focus is on building a meaningful connection with the Qur’an, trusting the process, and ensuring students retain what they memorize.
What if my child doesn’t qualify for Part-Time Hifdh right now?
We encourage students to strengthen their Qur’an reading and memorization skills through Qalam’s After-School Maktab Program. Our admissions assessment will include personalized recommendations for next steps.

What is the tuition for Part-Time Hifdh?
Is there a separate program for boys and girls?
No, boys and girls will be in the same class while adhering to Islamic guidelines.
What is generally a good age to put my kid in Hifdh?
Most students begin Hifdh around ages 7-8 years of age, but this depends on their reading fluency, memorization ability, focus, motivation and maturity level. We accept beginning students up to the age of 16.
What level of Qur’an proficiency is required before entering Hifdh?
Students must be very fluent in Qur’an reading with proper Tajweed and demonstrate the ability to memorize and retain their memorization.
What qualities will help my child become successful in this Hifdh Program?
Successful Hifdh students demonstrate discipline, committing to daily memorization and review with consistency. They are teachable, showing a willingness to learn and accept guidance. Humility is key, as they respect the Qur’an and the learning process. Additionally, they must have focus, the ability to concentrate for extended periods, and drive, maintaining internal motivation and perseverance throughout their journey.
