Qurʾan Intensive
Surah al-Baqarah is the foundation of faith, guidance, and daily life. This Qur’an Intensive is a focused study, learning the meanings, tafsīr, vocabulary, themes, and lessons of the longest and one of the most powerful surahs in the Qur’an.
Students will engage with tafsīr, thematic reflections, and practical applications, gaining clarity on belief, worship, character, and community. By the end of the intensive, participants will leave with a deeper understanding of Surah al-Baqarah and a renewed connection to the Qur’an as a living guide for their lives.
This program is offered in-person and online for ages 17 and up.
Qur’an Camp for Youth
Ages 7-12:
Our Kids Qur’an Camp makes learning meaningful and fun through age-appropriate commentary and reflections on select passages of the Qur’an. This is offered in-person and online.
Ages 13-16:
This year, we are also introducing a Teens Qur’an Camp designed as a dedicated space for teens to slow down, reflect, and spend intentional time with the Qur’an, deepening understanding, strengthening their connection, and engaging in thoughtful discussion relevant to their stage of life. This camp is only offered in-person.
Meet Your Instructor for Qur’an Intensive:
Shaykh AbdulNasir Jangda is the Founder and President of Qalam. He is a faculty member at the Qalam Seminary where he teaches Sahih Bukhari, advanced Tafsir, Usul, Fiqh, Aqidah, and Balaghah. He has completed an extensive study of the life of the Prophet ﷺ in the Seerah Podcast. He annually teaches the Qur’an Intensive and Seerah Intensive, and had groups on the Seerah Umrah tour, as well as to Masjid Al-Aqsa.
Born and raised in Dallas, he currently resides there with his wife and three children. He memorized the Qur’an in Karachi at an early age. After high school, he returned to Karachi to study the Islamic sciences full-time at Jamia Binoria. He graduated from the rigorous ‘alim program in 2001 at the top of his class. He then completed specializations in Fiqh and Tafsir. He also attained a B.A. and M.A. in Arabic from Karachi University while completing a Masters in Islamic Studies from the University of Sindh. After returning home, he taught at the local university and Islamic schools, and served as an imam in the Dallas area.
Teens Qurʾan Camp Objectives:
Main Objective: Our Teens’ Qur’an Camp for ages 13–16 provides a dedicated space for deeper engagement with the Qur’an through thoughtful study, reflection, and discussion. Students explore the meanings and themes of Surah al-Baqarah, connect its guidance to real-life challenges, and build lasting relationships with mentors and peers through interactive learning and activities.

Breaking down vocab/verses and tying in relevant themes of Surah Baqarah into everyday challenges/realities to make the Qur’an more accessible

Providing creative applications, reflection opportunities, and discussions to actively apply learning
Connect
Facilitating meaningful, fun, active connection/activities with peers

Establishing relationships with mentors (TAs/teachers/older students) through thoughtful discussions and activities/outings
Kids Qurʾan Camp Objectives:
Main Objective: Our Kids’ Qur’an Camp for ages 7–12 blends thoughtful Qur’anic study with engaging activities to build knowledge, memorization, language skills, and a strong sense of community. Each day includes verse study in Arabic and English, daily duas, purposeful vocabulary exposure, reflective moments, and fun arts & crafts activities.
Memorize and Understand Key Verses:
Students will memorize and build familiarity with essential verses from Surah Al-Baqarah, including Ayat al-Kursi, the final two ayahs, and selected Qur’anic duas. Through guided instruction and interactive activities, they will also learn them in both Arabic and English.
Build Qur’anic Language Skills:
Students will learn high-frequency Qur’anic vocabulary through daily guided listening, word recognition, hands-on workbook activities, and interactive group activities. Students will practice identifying these words directly within verses to strengthen both listening and comprehension.
Explore and Reflect on Qur’anic Themes:
Students will engage with stories, signs, and key lessons from Surah Al-Baqarah through discussion, reflection, and fun activities. They will explore the blessings of Allah and begin to connect Qur’anic messages to the world around them.
Develop a Love for the Qur’an and Community:
Through lessons from Surah Al-Baqarah, daily prayer, and simple acts of worship, students will be introduced to ways of connecting with Allah, the Qur’an, and the Prophet ﷺ. Through hands-on activities and creative projects, the camp aims to create a space for students to begin building their own relationship with the Qur’an while forming lasting friendships with their classmates.

Adults:
Qurʾan Intensive Onsite & Qurʾan Intensive Online: 9 am to 5 pm central, every day, weekends included. We have a modified schedule on Jumuʿah.
Teens:
Teens Qurʾan Camp Onsite: 9 am to 5 pm central, daily, weekends included. Schedule will include age appropriate activities.
Kids:
Kids Qurʾan Camp Onsite: 9 am to 5 pm central, daily, weekends included. Schedule will include arts, crafts, and recess.
Kids Qurʾan Camp Online: 10 to 11:30 am central, daily, weekends included. Schedule will include live Q&A and class hangouts.
Live online attendance is not mandatory.
