SHAYKH OMAR HUSAIN

Shaykh Omar Husain was born and raised in Southern California. He attended the University of Illinois at Chicago on a tennis scholarship, and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Information Sciences. After graduating, he travelled to Toronto, Canada where he studied the Arabic language and began his journey in the Islamic sciences. He then returned to the United States and worked as a Business Analyst for multiple consulting firms. During this time, he was blessed to complete his memorization of the Quran. He then travelled to Cairo, Egypt, and, along with private studies, enrolled in Al-Azhar University, the oldest institute of Islamic learning in the world. He graduated from the College of Islamic studies and Arabic Language at Al-Azhar. He has actively participated in various youth activities, and MSA study circles as well as, delivered khutbas, lectures, and held classes in various masjids across the U.S. He has also translated the soon to be published masterpiece of Imam Jalāl ad-Dīn Suyūṭī, Al-Itqān Fī U’lūm al-Qur’ān “Towards Perfecting the Qur’ānic Sciences.”

Currently, he is the Religious Director at the Muslim Children Education and Civic Center (MCECC) in San Antonio, TX. He also teaches the traveling seminar, Afterlife: Journey of the Soul.
