Q1. What is covered in the cost?
The cost covers your accommodations, meals, activities, study materials, and tuition. Your airfare is not covered in the cost.
Q2. When should I plan to arrive at the retreat and will you provide transportation?
Every attendee is responsible for arranging their own transportation to the Roots Community Space in Irving, TX. We will be meeting at Roots Community Space in Irving, TX on Friday, August 30th at 4pm and chartering our attendees (free of cost). We will also be departing from the retreat site Sunday, September 1st and arriving back to Roots Community Space at 3pm. Individual rides will not be provided.
Q3. What ages are allowed to the retreat?
It is geared towards High School students. Anyone between 9th and 12th grade. If you have questions for exceptions, please reach out to Ustadh Safi at firstname.lastname@example.org
Q4. Can parents attend?
No, this retreat is geared for youth only.
Q5. Is this retreat for both males and females?
Yes, and we will have a male and female instructor available. We will be in group cabins that sleep 16 people each. We will be separating between brothers and sisters. The cabins offer bunk beds.
Q6. What should I pack?
- Blankets and pillows
- Walking shoes
- Outfits suitable for outdoor activities
- Bug repellant
- Light sweater (Low 60s in the evenings)
- A copy of the Qur'an
Q7. What activities will we be doing?
The tuition includes the daily religious enrichment, meals, lodging, and activities including bonfires, hikes, archery, riflery, swimming, a boat ride to an island, and canoeing. Horseback riding is available for an additional $15 per person.
Q8. How will I be assigned a roommate?
Roommates are assigned at random. Every room at the retreat is set up differently. The number of beds per room may vary.
