WHAT IS SUHBAH?
Suhbah is the Arabic word for companionship. In the Islamic tradition it represents fellowship, being in good company, and mentorship. The greatest generation of Muslims, the Sahabah, are literally known as the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ. They learned, benefited, and grew from being in the company of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Since that time, great emphasis has been placed in creating beneficial relationships and spaces. This is our effort to provide that for Muslim women in our community
WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?
Surah Hujurat is a Madani surah revealed close to the end of the life of the Prophet ﷺ. After Makkah had been conquered, the Muslim community had settled in Madinah, and Islam had begun to spread. At this time, Allah sends down guidance for how the Muslims should conduct themselves amongst each other. By teaching the new Muslims then how to engage with the Prophet ﷺ, we are taught how to engage with the rest of the world now. Keeping Iman and Taqwa at the core of it all, we will cover the five major objectives of the surah. These rules of engagement comprise the building blocks of a healthy community that ultimately strengthen our relationship with Allah ﷻ.
